Mike London
Every great wrestling tradition begins with someone who believes in what a program can become. For Tuttle Wrestling, Mike London was one of those individuals. Through decades of coaching, leadership, and dedication to young athletes, London helped lay the foundation for a program that would grow into one of Oklahoma’s most celebrated wrestling dynasties. His influence reached far beyond the wrestling mat, shaping generations of wrestlers and helping establish a tradition that continues to thrive today.
The Foundation of Tuttle Wrestling
Mike London dedicated more than 37 years to coaching youth wrestling in Tuttle, Oklahoma. As the founder and head coach of Tuttle’s youth wrestling program, he introduced countless young athletes to the sport and helped create the foundation for the championship culture that would eventually define Tuttle Wrestling.
His influence extended to the high school level as well. London was instrumental in bringing wrestling to Tuttle High School in 1984, helping open the door for generations of Tigers to compete, develop, and pursue championships.
What began with a commitment to giving young athletes an opportunity became something much greater: the beginning of a wrestling tradition that would transform Tuttle into a powerhouse at both the youth and high school levels. His early efforts helped establish the pathway through which young wrestlers could grow from beginners into high school champions.
A Commitment to Wrestling Beyond Oklahoma
London’s contributions to wrestling reached beyond his hometown. Throughout the 1980s, he coached freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling with the Oklahoma City Athletic Club, helping athletes develop their skills in different styles of the sport.
He also took numerous teams on international tours, providing wrestlers with opportunities to experience competition beyond the United States. These experiences broadened athletes’ perspectives, challenged them to grow, and demonstrated London’s commitment to developing wrestlers both on and off the mat.
His dedication reflected a passion for wrestling that extended beyond wins and losses. He believed in the opportunities the sport could provide, the lessons it could teach, and the lasting relationships it could create.
A Family Legacy of Service
Perhaps one of the clearest examples of Mike London’s influence is the way his family continued the work he began.
His son, Trent London, became a three-time Oklahoma high school state champion and a collegiate All-American. Trent carried his father’s passion into the next generation, serving for many years as head coach of Tuttle Little League Wrestling and helping young athletes begin their own wrestling journeys.
His daughter, Dusty London, also played an important role in the program’s continued success by serving as the Little League director.
Together, the London family helped sustain the youth wrestling system that Mike worked so hard to establish. Their commitment ensured that his original vision would continue reaching new generations of Tuttle wrestlers.
The London family’s story is a powerful example of how a wrestling tradition can grow beyond one individual. Mike helped establish the program, and his children continued to strengthen it, allowing his influence to remain part of Tuttle Wrestling’s identity.
A Legacy Recognized
In 2024, Mike London was inducted into the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for Lifetime Service to Wrestling. The honor recognized decades of dedication to coaching, developing young athletes, and strengthening the sport throughout Oklahoma.
While the induction celebrated his extraordinary service, his greatest legacy can also be seen in the generations of wrestlers who have passed through Tuttle’s youth program and gone on to represent the Tigers at the high school level.
Every young athlete who first stepped onto the mat because of the opportunities London helped create is part of that legacy. His influence lives on through the coaches who followed his example, the families who became part of the wrestling community, and the championship tradition that continues to flourish in Tuttle.
A Lasting Legacy in Tuttle
Mike London helped build more than a youth wrestling program. He helped create the foundation for a community tradition that has shaped countless young lives and contributed to Tuttle’s remarkable wrestling history.
His dedication to youth development, his role in bringing high school wrestling to Tuttle, and his family’s continued involvement have left an enduring mark on the program. The championship banners and state titles that followed are part of a story that began with people like Mike London, who believed in the sport and invested their time and energy in the next generation.
Thank you, Mike London, for more than 37 years of service, for helping bring wrestling to Tuttle High School, and for beginning the tradition that continues to define Tuttle Wrestling today. Your vision, dedication, and passion helped lay the groundwork for generations of Tiger wrestlers. The legacy you started lives on in every young athlete who steps onto the mat and every champion who carries the Tuttle name forward.
Chad Richison
The Tuttle Wrestling story is built not only on the champions who compete on the mat, but also on the people who carry the Tiger spirit with them long after graduation. Chad Richison, a former Tuttle wrestler and successful business leader, exemplifies that lasting connection to his hometown. Through his accomplishments in business and his extraordinary generosity toward Tuttle Public Schools, Richison has helped create new opportunities for generations of students and athletes.
From Tuttle Wrestler to Business Leader
A 1989 graduate of Tuttle High School, Chad Richison was part of the Tiger wrestling program before continuing his athletic career at the University of Central Oklahoma. During his senior year at Tuttle, he earned a fourth-place finish at the state tournament, establishing himself as a state placer and contributing to the school’s wrestling tradition.
After high school, Richison continued wrestling at the collegiate level at UCO. His journey from the wrestling room in Tuttle to the world of business reflects the lasting value of dedication, hard work, and perseverance—qualities that connect athletic competition with success beyond the mat.
Richison would go on to become the founder and CEO of Paycom, building a multibillion-dollar company and establishing himself as a prominent business leader. Despite his professional success, he has maintained a meaningful connection to the community where his journey began.
Investing in Tuttle’s Future
In 2024, Richison made a transformative investment in his hometown and its schools. He donated $9 million to match the Tuttle school district’s contribution toward improvements to the football facility, stadium, and press box. He also donated an additional $1 million specifically for upgrades to Tuttle High School’s wrestling facilities.
These contributions represented more than improvements to buildings. They were an investment in the students, coaches, teachers, and community members who make Tuttle special. By helping modernize the district’s athletic facilities, Richison ensured that future generations of Tigers would have access to outstanding spaces in which to train, compete, learn, and grow.
Combined with school bond funding, the investment also helped make possible several important improvements across the high school campus, including:
Relocating the agricultural barn
Expanding the high school weight room
Adding four new classrooms
Constructing a 120-seat testing and hospitality center
Together, these projects strengthened the school’s facilities and created additional opportunities for students across multiple programs and activities.
A Stadium That Honors a Family’s Generosity
One of the most visible tributes to Richison’s generosity is the naming of Tuttle’s football stadium as Richison Family Stadium. The name serves as a lasting reminder of the Richison family’s commitment to the community and the impact that giving back can have on a hometown.
For Tuttle athletes, the upgraded facilities provide an enhanced environment in which to pursue excellence. For the wider community, they represent pride in a town that continues to invest in its students and its future.
The additional support for the wrestling facilities holds particular significance for the Tuttle Wrestling family. As a former Tiger wrestler himself, Richison understands the role athletics can play in shaping discipline, confidence, perseverance, and lifelong relationships. His investment helps ensure that future wrestlers can train and compete in facilities that reflect the program’s championship tradition.

Chad Richison’s story is a powerful example of the connection between a community and those who carry its values into the world. From earning a place on the state wrestling podium as a Tuttle senior to building a successful business career, he has remained connected to the town that helped shape his early years.
